After Klebnikov´s journey and experiences in his final days in Novosibirsk, which Colonel Miller recalls a year later, players can expect classic Metro series story-driven gameplay in this new linear chapter, complete with all-new weapons, a deadly flamethrower, a claustrophobic setting, and all-too-familiar tension, from whose hair stands on end.
Sam´s story. Beginning of 2020.
Sam, a US Marine stationed at the Moscow embassy before the bombs were dropped, had long dreamed of returning to his homeland and possibly finding his family alive. The prospect seemed impossible in the darkened subway tunnels, but when the Spartans discovered that Moscow was not the only city left alive after the war, hope no longer seemed so foolish.
Sam leaves the Aurora in search of a way back to the US, arriving at the remains of Vladivostok´s tsunami-ravaged harbors, destroyed industrial buildings, and crumbling residential areas. To complete his journey, Sam will find that he needs all the tactics he has learned so far to survive, as his environment proves to be much more difficult than expected.
Players will forge Sam´s path through the surviving sandbox of Vladivostok on an all-new journey through the wastelands of post-apocalyptic Russia.
